An ango is a time of more intensive cultivation, which culminates in the Rohatsu sesshin, a celebration of the enlightenment of the historical Buddha. We will deepen our practice through the following practices:

• regular individual practice of zazen

• weekly group practice of zazen

• weekly sutra/text study

• monthly zazenkai and fusatsu ceremonies

Welcome to the online home of the Grand Junction Zen Community, or GJZen. We are a group of practitioners who come together as kalyāṇa-mittatā - spiritual friends - to ponder the great matter of birth and death.

Our practice is rooted in the traditions and forms of Rinzai Zen, and we welcome anyone who is interested in learning more to come sit with us.
